a constitutional perspective
What’s the adage: Follow the money, and so apropos today. But stunningly, in lieu of following the money, most prefer to stand by Party while Party fleeces WE THE PEOPLE. Example: No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law; and a regular Statement and Account of the Receipts and Expenditures of all public Money shall be published from time to time (Constitution: Article I/Section 9/7th Clause). With two caveats: All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives (Constitution: Article I/Section 1/First Clause), and; All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills (Constitution: Article I/Section 7/First Clause). Begging: Who’s following the money?
Because, amongst many issues facing the country, one component thereof, USAID (United States Agency International Development) has a purse string so long, not one person in Congress has any idea the money being wasted or given away, even though the responsibility of appropriation, and control thereof falls on Congress to make certain an accounting is maintained, thus managing the taxpayer’s money. That’s just one department. How many others, including the DoE (department of education and DoD (department of defense)? What’s the age-old adage: Fraud, Waste, Corruption. Except, no one’s manned the watch part.
But, damn nation, things only get worse: The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence (Constitution: Article IV/Section 4). So, as the nation was overrun with illegal aliens, multiples of them being nefarious in nature (Tren de Aragua for instance), all three branches of government failed entirely to protect the nation from invasion, much less those individuals who were raped and murdered. Hell, thinking back to 2020, and the “mostly peaceful” riots most definitely did not appear so as cities were burned, 60,000 police officers were assaulted, with 40 plus being killed. And let’s skip the college campus riots as Jews don’t count, understanding the J6 riots were the end of democracy, while everything else was preserving it.
And then returned Trump, a wrecking ball of a president. He, along with Elon Musk (DOGE/department of government efficiency), their desire to supposedly make the country safe and prosperous while eliminating the “waste, fraud, and corruption” that has been made transparent and apparent. He (Trump) was soundly elected through the “will of the people” to alter the current national course. Except, when it comes to Party power, or the loss thereof, the newest destruction of Tesla, its employees, property, including cars individuals purchased is all fair game in the game of politics. But: The judicial Power of the United States, shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish. The Judges, both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour, and shall, at stated Times, receive for their Services, a Compensation, which shall not be diminished during their Continuance in Office (Constitution: Article III/Section 1). And thus, judges, Party centric, are doing everything possible to refute the people’s will, and instead, push Party dictates.
Only, constitutionally speaking: Whoever attentively considers the different departments of power must perceive, that, in a government in which they are separated from each other, the judiciary, from the nature of its functions, will always be the least dangerous to the political rights of the Constitution; because it will be least in a capacity to annoy or injure them. The Executive not only dispenses the honors, but holds the sword of the community. The legislature not only commands the purse, but prescribes the rules by which the duties and rights of every citizen are to be regulated. The judiciary, on the contrary, has no influence over either the sword or the purse; no direction either of the strength or of the wealth of the society; and can take no active resolution whatever. It may truly be said to have neither FORCE nor WILL, but merely judgment; and must ultimately depend upon the aid of the executive arm for the efficacy of its judgments. … Nor does this conclusion by any means suppose a superiority of the judicial to the legislative power. It only supposes that the power of the people is superior to both; and that where the will of the legislature, declared in its statutes, stands in opposition to that of the people, declared in the Constitution, the judges ought to be governed by the latter rather than the former (Federalist 78).
Which if the people overwhelmingly chose Trump, but Congress holds “all legislative power,” how is it the president can just “executive order” over Congress while one judge has the sole power to upend executive actions taken? Or, should the will of people take precedent, and Judges, including Congress, uphold. Or, in Trump’s desire to save the country, has he put on full display the abject failure of Congress as members bloviate about the “waste, fraud, and corruption” being highlighted? Their wealth obtained at the expense of taxpayers funding the lavish lifestyles they live, public servant a blatant lie. And when it comes to judges, shouldn’t “good behavior” be a topic of discussion? For as much as I cringe Trump, I believe he has it right where Supreme Court Justice Roberts recently got it wrong … again:
Good: Valid; legally firm; not weak or defective; having strength adequate to its support; as a good title; a good deed; a good claim. … Having moral qualities best adapted to its design and use, or the qualities which God’s law requires; virtuous; pious; religious; applied to persons, and opposed to bad, vitious, wicked, evil.
Behavior: Manner of behaving, whether good or bad; conduct; manners; carriage of one’s self, with respect to propriety, or morals; deportment. It expresses external appearance or action; sometimes in a particular character; more generally in the common duties of life; as our future destiny depends on our behavior in this life. It may express correct or good manners, but I doubt whether it ever expresses the idea of elegance of manners, without another word to qualify it. To be upon one’s behavior, is to be in a state of trial, in which something important depends on propriety of conduct. The modern phrase is, to be or to be put, upon one’s good behavior. (both definitions: Webster’s 1828 American Dictionary)
Bottom line: Learn your Constitution before those you’ve elected to protect and defend it dismantle and destroy it. And if you think Party gives a damn about you; think again.
