America, America, God shed his grace on thee!
When in the Course of human events (man-made), it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God (Omnipotence/Supreme Being) entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires (Declaration of Independence/DOI) …
I recall a fictional story. A man imbibed too much and slept it off for twenty years, then woke. Although, in his wokeness, he didn’t destroy, cancel, or demand change. Yet, once enlightened, he was saddened, relieved, and glad, discovering his former government had been vanquished; replaced. The story’s protagonist, Rip Van Winkle, upon being woken, was told he’d slept through the American Revolution: British America, now the United States of America. Although, in relief, he found his wife had passed, a henpecker. Yet with gladness he reconnected with his son, now fully grown. But in sadness, friends had been killed in the fighting. And the new nation; better than the former, the townsfolk, mirthful, willing to discuss, to explain, to inform.
So, in a parallel of reality, America, at some point, apparently imbibed a magic elixir, conked out, and like the story’s character, became fully woke. Incongruously, the inverse happened: destruction, and cancelation, with demand for change. Even government malfeasance allows the ability to achieve a desired result. But which, and what? The reasons, outcomes, and truth, not relevant; just a vanquishing of the old to replace anew. For a perspective of thought, ponder Hollywood western reasoning: Stealing cattle is like running for Mayor. You start out honest, then end up indicted by the Grand Jury. (Saddle Tramp/1950)
The nation today, indicted by individuals with no apparent knowledge of precepts, intents, or foundational principles laid by the Framers. But in truth, the very indictments are due others past and present for their misdeeds. Those who, while serving, abuse power to serve themselves, or obfuscate through deception and theft. Their supposed honesty: veils of prevarication. Their responsibility replaced by deceit. Their integrity; duplicity. The desired result: the nation, including those who mirror the past must genuflect, repent, and pay for the mistakes of those who came before.
The indictors, including one’s elected, who’ve sworn to uphold and protect the very system they want to dismantle, with an array of accusations, while pontificating loquaciously about America’s sins amid all the destruction taking place. But, to tear down, to destroy? A conundrum if one does not believe the nation itself at fault, but inherently good. An enigma, if one desires the destruction, but has no basis of knowledge regarding the foundation, or the replacement to be. With agendum’s mostly hidden, except the desire of national overhaul; their constitutional basis irrelevant, abject. Yet, what should not be ideas only espoused to expound, but legitimate grievances presented, remember: that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation (DOI).
