Twas two nights before Christmas and all through the house; no creatures were stirring, except for myself. While one stocking hung by the fireplace, who cares, as Barbara and R2 were asleep in their beds; a gazillion thoughts of writing bounced around in my head. The morning too damned early, as the fire glowed warmth, and colored tree lights glittered, the darkness of night became a calm delight.
When all of a sudden there came such a clatter, as my fingers began strumming both sides of brain matter. As the vastness of emptiness between their placement echoed, words escaped; yet worse, jumbled thoughts scattered. As the cacophony dinned, I realized: The reason for the season, it really does matter.
It’s not just the shopping, the gifts and receiving. And just then, what struck while staring at the dim cast of light: “Peace on earth, good will towards men,” an innermost hope manifested; The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost!
So, while preparing for Christmas, hold close to your heart: “Love your neighbor as yourself,” a truth in the big bang of life. Although for some, much too hard to believe, much less able to comprehend, understanding it’s one-half of a whole. As believing without seeing, not the other way round; is the reason for the season, where the One can be found. So, keep your heart open, and sound doctrine will abound.
Though it’s only one day, I hold dearly all year: “Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!”
Good see your not working today (early morning)
Merry Christmas Ric
And Merry Christmas to you and yours!
