Ahh, the joy of Labor Day! An opportunity for a day of freedom, creating a three-day weekend for most. To reflect on the historical significance of the day, or just grab a beer (or two or three or a six-pack), raise a toast, or many thereof, and be thankful for the paid day off. Aren’t our bosses great! And yes, who cares about history today; it’s not that important in the scheme of things. Let’s get the beer in the cooler, and the burgers and hot dogs going on the grill. Or better, a “Prime 1” rib-eye, perfectly aged (40 days) and marbled, if you’re a Texas “HEB” shopper. And, speaking of the Lone Star State, it’s hotter than Hell outside right now, so a little more added heat along with a ton of ice is always better. Or is that a conundrum? And, better still, the neighbor with the pool and the invite!
Plus, Grover Cleveland signed Labor Day into law on the 28th of June 1894, and it always happens on the first Monday in September, which falls after every Sunday, thus the three days. And no one “pulled” any strings for this holiday; think “Pullman,” a strike and a host of previous issues. So yes, those government folks are pretty-sharp. They always have our (their constituents) best interests at heart while sacrificing their comfort and prosperity to make certain ours grow. All WE THE PEOPLE need to do: Just continue trusting them! Better still! Just know their sacrifice of “public service” is more for our desire to sacrifice more of our hard-earned money in the form of taxes so they can get more, I mean, do more. So, at every level of government: Don’t they deserve the steak more than us? And shouldn’t we be happy [with] weenies or more willing to surrender more of what we make? Now maybe that’s the real conundrum? As citizens, we’re not doing enough. Anyway, if you are or were a worker bee and reading this: Happy Labor Day! This toast’s for you! Then Tuesday, get back after it, earning more of that taxable income. Remember: The more the merrier! But for what and for whom. Regards!
You got a invite to the pool , Well?@@@!!! Know where I stand now
