As I contemplated this perspective, I reflected on life itself. From the moment one is born, the process of death begins, with life in between being a series of hardships and good tidings. The advent of government, either good or evil, the supposed benefactor of its citizens, allowing them to maintain a prosperous life. And with no other government before like the United States of America, the intent of, being freedom of choice on a multiple of levels, but. I grew up believing in America: Truth, Justice, and the American way! Government, the epitome of Superman. But what I learned: Never trust anyone, verify everything. So, as I look at the political world of America today, I wonder. How is it one individual who only served one term as president is responsible for every ill the country faces. Yet, all the while, another person who has been in political life their entire career is the one who will save the nation from the one term pundit after being party to multitudinous ills created. Seriously? Plus, as I delve into my usual verbosity, make no mistake, I do not believe in either Party. Because, out of the two candidates running for the executive’s chair, Biden and Trump: Are they really the best this country can muster? And I’m to believe out of 330-plus million people, those are the only two. The best? Seriously?
Yet, here we are as a people, a country, diving into an inescapable pit. And no one cares. Party, the answer to every ill the nation faces. Yet, when the junior JFK decided to run against Biden, the Democrat party began doing everything possible in their struggle for power to keep him off the ballot. The very party proclaiming the “end of democracy,” or “a threat to democracy” if Trump should win. Yes, that party, doing more to upset the balance of democracy, even if one includes the Republican imbeciles. Example: The southern border. I know; it was sealed, even though it wasn’t, but now, in the new election year it isn’t. Or, maybe no longer forever, if the hope of passing a border bill comes to pass that will never stop the flow into the country but speed the process of influx up. I mean, didn’t a judge just declare illegal aliens have the right to possess firearms under the 2nd Amendment while pushing for tighter controls on citizens having them. Check Colorado’s desire. Yet, how can an illegal alien fulfill the requirements of the ATF form when they can’t provably answer a single question on the form at the time of purchase. Or is it now constitutional carry for all? You know, the government cannot legislate what it cannot control, the ATF being unconstitutional? And yes, that includes alcohol and tobacco. But also going back to why the Framers wanted everybody armed. A government too big to be small!
As a people, we’ve sunk to such depths of depravity, I wonder: Can the country sink any lower? Yet, every day reaches a new depth of idiocy. So much, Party has become so consumed with power; nothing makes sense anymore. Although, if there is one axiom in life unchangeable: The Bible can stand without the Constitution, but the Constitution cannot stand without the Bible. Or, in simpler words: A moral compass. And yes, one is demanded. Because with everything taking place today, this country does not have one, but it better find one. And quick. President Biden’s recent proclamation for “Transgender Day of Visibility,” being celebrated March 31, 2024, an example, casting a shadow over Easter Sunday. I believe a deliberate choice to further divide the country. Sadly, I believe the Democrat party’s desire: drive a wedge of division, to alienate certain people, and to further degrade the country of its foundational faith structure. This “proclamation” could have taken place on 363 other days, but to pick this Easter Sunday, was a purposeful design of intent. Better, where are the church leaders or the Pope? Should they not be vociferously calling him out? Or did they, and that’s why he denied it after he signed it. I mean, doesn’t President Biden profess his faith in Catholicism? Because, if one is too ambivalent or party blinded to not see the desire, then God help us. Except, He won’t, because we kicked Him to the curb to satisfy a perversion of country by whatever means possible.
There is so much ongoing, I feel for my son R2. Because, unless things turn around, his future is going to be a struggle. Sadly, WE have done this to every upcoming child reaching adulthood today, and those yet to come. We sacrificed their futures for whatever slice of something we believed the government would provide for us. Some have so much desired government intervention, I’ve come to the conclusion, as a people, we’re just flatly lost. WE THE PEOPLE were given a country like no other in the world. We were supposed to be the controlling factor, not others controlling us. And yes, with government, some individual (natural) rights had to be surrendered for all rights, making rights equal for all. Except, among many things, power is an elixir, where the more one gets, the more one wants. Conversely, the more one surrenders, the more another takes, begging: How much is one willing to surrender to never get back?
Example: I live in a small town right outside a metropolis, with a corridor of small towns being enveloped by a megalopolis. Two major cities at the opposite ends of the corridor. The common denominator: A multiple of governments, all vying for their proverbial slice of power pie, bought and paid for by citizens. The town I live in being a city manager run government with a town council elected by the citizens to hopefully protect them from an overreach of city government. Only, some of those once elected believe they’re there to create a larger government, protecting it, instead of the citizens who elected them. A conundrum. Now, in the ever-expanding megalopolis, my town has become “landlocked,” which in some ways limits the ability for city government, remembering taxes and the desire to obtain money are the lifeblood of government. So, for thought: the average citizen earns sixty thousand per annum. Yet, the city manager is paid in excess of three hundred thousand. The city even has a golf course, financially in the red, although I’m now being told it’s breaking even, with other sources of income used to prop it up. Yet, there are multiple city employees there making one hundred thousand per. Yes, those who only make sixty, supporting those who make one hundred. Worse, those who do not even golf, having to pay for those who do, while if there is a pastime another enjoys, too bad. Seek it elsewhere at personal expense. My argument: Government was not intended to be all for some, and none for another. It was meant to be the protector of all, and a provider of essentials for all, with the equality of all in mind.
Now, let’s talk about our house. We purchased it, paid the loan off in full, and keep current on taxes, never having had any government support. But, if we decide to do any type of work on it, it is at the mercy of the city government. They must review, approve, and inspect any work being done, at a fee (permits) of course. Plus, any contractor we decide to hire, if they want to work in the city, must be approved by the city, for a fee as well. Which begs: How did small government gain that much power? Yet, once the work is completed, if something goes awry, the city cannot be held responsible for anything. Every party writes them the checks, while they pocket the money, ever increasing city government size, but bearing no culpability or responsibility. And, who decided small government (city/county) would become nanny states, riding shotgun to the State government nannies, but overshadowed by the federal nannies with all responsibility and costs borne by citizens?
Example: One of the nearby towns has a subdivision where all the foundations were failing. The residents gathered at a city council meeting and begged the mayor at the time to help get them some relief. The mayor wasn’t sure what, if anything, he could do. A deception to obfuscate. So, I sent a “letter to the editor” of the local paper asking why the city didn’t bear any responsibility. They adopted the code, approved all the plans, and inspected all the work before a contractor could proceed to the next phase. Imagine: even before the foundations were laid, from dirt work forward, every step was “inspected” by a city inspector who verified every aspect was performed to code. Plus, until the city was satisfied with each step, the next could not be performed. All the while, the city took the checks from the developer and contractors, deepening the city pockets. Yet, when the problems started, the mayor begged ignorance and accepted no responsibility.
Then, the big city we border. It’s a Democrat stronghold. So much, the city government is a haven for illegal aliens. They’re housed, fed, clothed, and taken to the airport and flown wherever they desire deep into the confines of the country. Each step and every aspect all at taxpayers’ expense from the local and national level. NGOs becoming rich from the venture destroying the country from within. So, I suggest: As a citizen, try to board a flight for free, or even go through TSA unvetted without a valid PICTURE identification. Yes, it won’t happen. But the end game? Make them all citizens, or at a minimum, give them the ability to vote in national elections, a one-sided party vote. It’s coming, and anyone too ambivalent or party blinded to not see the handwriting on the wall is a fool. Then the other city at the other end of the corridor: Another Democrat stronghold. Its defund the police movement catching up with itself. The citizens who voted for it, now crying foul of it. Yet, how many other defund the police movement cities across the nation are facing the same dilemma?
And let’s not forget school. When R2 was in elementary, the district decided to pay all the employees a bonus. To which I do not believe any government employee at any level deserves a bonus, period. Government is a consumer of money, not a producer of, like a business does. Bonuses are based on profit. Anyway, when the district announced such, I went back to the “letter to the editor,” and “voiced” my reason why not. On the school property was a water leak I’d watched for five years. And, yes, one could say I bore responsibility, but I’ll argue that claim anytime. Every teacher, principal, or employee of the district walked by this leak and did nothing, nor said anything to correct the problem for over five years! My letter though highlighted the issue. I was then contacted by the department head of facilities and maintenance. He forthrightly informed me how mistaken I was: There was no water leak! We discussed the issue and by the time we ended the call, he iterated he would correct me and I would need to issue a letter of apology. It took two weeks, but I received a return call. The leak had been located and fixed. It wasn’t hard to miss being a huge puddle of mud and water. The grass had grown overly tall as the lawn maintenance personnel would not cut the grass. Sadly, this did not end my encounters with the district. On another occasion, I was called to the “principal’s office” (superintendent) over another letter about the misspending of school funds. The meeting was a set up to intimidate. While he sat in a chair, cleaned his fingernails, and refused to make eye contact, he had his department head minions drop report after report in front of me. The result is that the district still failed its students. As well, he failed, but his yearly pay: North of 350 thousand, begging, at what point is too much, too much? Especially when America is regressing, not progressing.
I could continue unabated, so as I close, Barbara is always telling me: You’re angry. And, in many ways I am. The destruction of our country and not having an ability to make a difference, yes, I’m angry. But a simple begging question to those who stand for the destruction taking place. Why? Do they hate their country that much; they’re willing to destroy the future of their posterity? I don’t get it. It troubles me. There are a host of issues, from the forced ownership of EVs, the demise of ICE (internal combustion engine) cars, the anchor baby lie, taxes, squatters, voter ID without the photo, or no ID at all to vote (try that at a bank or boarding a plane), just everyday survivability, moral standards, national debt, to freedoms (Life, Liberty, pursuit of Happiness), that if WE THE PEOPLE don’t wake up, it will all be for not. Sadly, it appears no one really cares, desires truth, or wants their country as it was intended. They just prefer Party decide all future direction. And like the blind leading the blind, all will fall into a pit, while Party, too willing to set the course will ultimately fall in as well. But, in the meantime, once it has complete control, it will then decide how much we’re controlled. Now, I’ve heard it said: Those who can, do, and those who can’t, go into government. Which brings up the three I’s: Incompetence, Ignorance, Indolence, being the foundation of those we elect, or is it more a reflection of those who do and don’t vote. But another begging question: How much longer do we continue the non-sensical unabated: Till death do us part? Because, that is coming in the not-too-distant future unless everyone gets off the merry-go-round.
