remember this day for a purpose
It’s Memorial Day. So, let’s say a prayer, raise a toast and remember: Remember those who did not make it home. Those KIA (killed in action); MIA (missing in action); including those who came home yet still remain in a combat zone. Even those who made it home and, on the surface, want everyone to believe “It’s all good.” Yeah, they call it PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) today. Then think about the kid who never met their parent, or the parents who never met their kids, including the ones who sent their child off to war, but came home in a box, while those who survive pick up their puzzle pieces remaining and start over again. And believe this: No one connected to war and combat escapes unscathed. But I get it: War is hell! and someone has to pay the price. The sad part: Those who put the country in them, do not suffer the repercussions thereof of them. They just make bank. But this day is about those who did not make it home, not politics, Party, or political posturing. So, in memory of those servicemembers and their families who gave all, let’s celebrate them and raise that toast: Siempre! (always). Regards!
