If one does not know by now, I despise and disbelieve in both the Democrat and Republican Parties. Their goals are simple: Destroy any remaining constitutional foundations WE THE PEOPLE have left! As well, I also believe those who use profanity in their normal course of verbiage display more ignorance than intelligence. So, for me to use vulgarity is inexplicable, but when I’m extremely torqued, my ignorance can bubble to the surface in anger. And food for thought: If anyone believes in the nation’s framing documents; Declaration of Independence (DOI), Constitution, and the Bill of Rights (BORs), I strongly suggest they start learning the premise of what the Framers laid out. Because the country is standing at a precipice it will not be able to return from if … WE THE PEOPLE don’t wake the F**K up now!
Take Thomas Jefferson’s words: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. – That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, (DOI). Now, if words have meaning, then understand Inalienable: (Unalienable); that cannot be legally or justly alienated or transferred to another. The dominions of a king are inalienable. All men have certain natural rights which are inalienable … (Webster’s 1828). And to completely clarify, understand alienate: To transfer title, property or right to another; as to alienate lands, or sovereignty (Webster’s 1828). Thus, pursuant to the Framers thought pattern, there are natural, God given Rights that government cannot touch, control, or legislate. Now, ponder the BORs that are supposedly sacrosanct, untouchable by government and ask yourself: Why - Who - Reasoning?
So, when Senator Tim Caine recently jaw jacked, he announced a clear desire to alienate/eliminate one of the nation’s framing documents: The notion that rights don't come from laws and don't come from the government, but come from the Creator, that's what the Iranian government believes. It's a theocratic regime that bases its rule on Shia (?) law and targets Sunnis, Bahá’ís, Jews, Christians and other religious minorities. And they do it because they believe that they understand what natural rights are from their Creator. So, the statement that our rights do not come from our laws or our governments is extremely troubling. I'm a strong believer in natural rights (apparently not), but I have a feeling if we were to have a debate about natural rights in the room and put people around the table with different religious traditions, there would be some significant differences in the definitions of those natural rights.
And those “different religious traditions” Senator Caine is more concerned with, Americans only need understand the nation was founded on Judeo-Christian principles, full stop. So, learn them, as it’s not for the country to bend to another’s, but others bend to them. Yet, one also only need rearview to 2020 to see more of how Tim Caine is striving to undermine the nation’s foundational structure: The first African Americans entered to the English colonies came to Point Comfort, Virginia in 1619. They were slaves. They’d been captured against their will, but they landed in colonies that didn’t have slavery. There were no laws about slavery in the colonies at that time. The United States didn’t inherit slavery from anybody we created it. It got created by the Virginia general assembly and the legislatures of other states. It got created by the court systems in colonial American sense that enforced fugitive slave laws. We created it and maintained it over the centuries.
Thus, through his diatribes of nonsensical prevarications, I would suggest Senator Caine study the DOI and maybe crack open the Bible to see how far back slavery’s roots go. Long before America, unless America wrote the Bible. He would learn slavery is not a western institution. Worse, Africa the nation trapped and sold its own people for profit. And the colonies were British America, not the United States of America. That process “to alter or to abolish” didn’t start until 1776. Yet sadly, and in ignorance, Virginians will most likely vote him back into office, as ignorance and Party are more important than the DOI, Constitution, or the BORs. And by all means, let’s keep an overlay of the DOI to Iran’s theocracy, disclaiming Judeo-Christian theology so maybe we can do away with the other two documents as well. And remember: If our rights are given to us by the government, they are no longer inalienable and can easily be taken away. What’s sad: Thomas Jefferson and Tim Caine hail from the same State: Virginia. Maybe Senator Caine should first learn the design of the Framers intent. Or is his intent a design?
