The thing points to Power. How do you get rid of need for power? It is in our nature. And all seek it needs to be honest and truthful. But Power corrupts all it touches.

There are those who do not want power, but justice and truth. In all honesty, I do not believe I seek power. I don’t want it. But I am willing to help bring things into alignment. In the leadership roles I’ve held, I always sought those who had more experience in the areas Under my control.

And yes, there were those who looked to usurp. I’ve never understood the need to hurt another. So, in one vein, only one’s belief in a greater power (God), can they then, by following His precepts, push back the lust for power. Yet, the Framers gave another Avenue: Term Limits.

Yes, they are written in the Constitution! Those only require one’s intellectual desire to see how those they’ve elected to office are perverting the oath they swore to uphold. But indolence and the desire for others to provide, creates the need for party power to rise.
